Marquez Motto
As a teacher, it is important to build a positive and supportive relationship with my students in order to develop greater learning potential and create an environment where my students can feel safe, cared for, and valued.
class motto
Our classroom strives to follow the "Golden Rule". It establishes a common goal between students and teachers, and increases an opportunity for all students to become successful learners.
high - five
Students are encouraged to "high-five" each other, for postive qualities or actions another student has demonstrated.
expectations
Clear expectations are provided for students at the beginning of the school year. Students are made aware that expectations are necessary in order to provide structure and assist them in becoming better pupils. Throughout the year, students are gently reminded of these expectations so that negative behavior does not become an issue.
Dia de Los Muertos
As educators we need to take a proactive response to cultural diversity and identify the differences between our students, as well as the similarities. Our instruction should demonstrate sensitivity to the different cultural backgrounds. We can only do this by becoming aware of the cultural background of the students we teach.
To build respect with my students, I plan lessons that address their ethnic origin. Students are always encouraged to showcase their ethnic backgrounds when a ethnic and religious holiday is celebrated.

teaming up
I work with students on a individual basis to support learning. Students are encouraged to work together in order to build positive learning relationships.
